Projects Community Engagement

There is a role for everyone in building a more sustainable and fairer community that respects the natural world. Our projects draw on the contributions of community members of all  ages and show that together we can make a difference! The net zero visions in our Childrens Art Exhibition and Town Mural point the way, our travelling exhibition showcases practical local actions, while Ecohub discussions, and larger community gatherings, talks and workshops and outdoor events encourage all to get involved.

Net Zero Visions imagining a Carbon Net Zero Community in Tiverton

Childrens Net Zero Art Competition

In 2020/21, we asked children from 7-16 for art which expressed their idea about how our community would look in a net zero future. They produced exciting and varied responses which show their knowledge and inventiveness, and particularly their positive ideas for the future. Exhibition boards with a curated selection of art have been on display at the vaccination centre in Tiverton and subsequently at our Ecohub. They are available for loan- contact to enquire

Net Zero Mural – Tiverton Marketplace

As part of Plymouth University’s Net Zero Visions project, we convened a group from different walks of life and ages in Tiverton to pool ideas and visions for the future, and share them with the artist to be expressed as a mural. It pictures the changes the group wish to see for our community and the benefits from adopting a more sustainable lifestyle.

Travelling Exhibition

The Sustainable Tiverton Exhibition is a series on 12 boards showing the problems of climate change and biodiversity loss and the many local positive actions which we can take as a local community. When exhibited with our children’s art at Tiverton Vaccination Centre, it promoted public discussion and responses to a viewers’ survey which feeds back into our projects.

The exhibition is available for loan- contact

Health and Wellbeing

A sustainable community is a healthier community- with better insulated houses and good active transport options. Volunteering builds community, providing opportunities to work and celebrate together, make friendships and combat loneliness. We aim to work closely with local health care providers and are grateful for the interest and support of our work from Amicus Health. For health and wellbeing support go to
